1995 April 19 A huge truck bomb destroys the Alfred P. Murrah government building in Oklahoma City, killing 168 people and injuring more than 400 others. The convicted saboteur, Timothy McVeigh, later claimed it was in retaliation for the government attack on the Branch Davidian compound in Texas exactly two years earlier.
