About 15 other states are granted delays by district court judges, whereas 20 districts choose to disobey the order either by closing schools or supporting parent-organized boycotts. Vice President Agnew announces a Presidential plan to appoint a cabinet-level committee to advise the districts on how best to implement the court's order without causing wholesale disruption.
